AccuMedical Shines at the International SLICE Next Frontiers Stroke Conference

Recently, the SLICE Next Frontiers Conference on Endovascular Stroke Treatment was held in Montpellier, France. AccuMedical made a striking debut with its Lattice NEXT Flow Diverter with Non-Extended Tip Design, joining leading global neurointervention experts to explore the future of flow diversion technologies. At the conference, Professor Liyong Sun from Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University, and Dr. Vincent Costalat, founder of SLICE, engaged in an in-depth discussion on the application of Lattice in the treatment of complex aneurysms.

In a particularly challenging case involving a cavernous segment aneurysm with a highly tortuous access route, Dr. Vincent Costalat and an international panel of experts discussed the feasibility of optimal treatment strategies. The key challenges in such cases include difficulty in establishing access, difficulty in stent delivery, and even if positioned successfully, risk of device twisting during deployment, making the procedure highly demanding.

However, thanks to its innovative "Non-Extended Tip" guidewire design and further-optimized delivery system, Lattice NEXT demonstrated smoother access and easier deployment in tortuous vascular anatomies.

Professor Liyong Sun conducted a live demonstration of treating a cavernous segment fusiform aneurysm using Lattice NEXT Flow Diverter, assisted by Cosine45 Intermediate Catheter and Sine27 Microcatheter.
The procedure involved advancing the Sine27 microcatheter into the middle cerebral artery, followed by the Cosine45 catheter to cross the aneurysm neck and reach the siphon curve. The advanced delivery system of Lattice NEXT enabled stable and smooth deployment of the stent, preventing device twisting. Once in position, the stent was released with ease.
The stent opened smoothly while navigating curves, and intraoperative imaging showed excellent wall apposition!

About SLICE

SLICE brings together stroke care professionals from around the world, providing a global platform for academic exchange and learning. It also actively encourages participation from young physicians, blending education with interactive experiences to impart the latest academic knowledge and expert insights.

The SLICE Stroke Conferences are held twice a year in Montpellier, France:

  • SLICE Worldwide — the multidisciplinary neurointervention congress in October, and
  • SLICE Next Frontiers — the specialized endovascular stroke treatment conference in April.
